May 16, 2014: For her bachelor thesis on biochar Valeria Svart-Groeger was awarded with the Max-Eyth-Award for the Promotion of Young Scientists 2014.
The title of her excellent thesis is: "Influence of pyrolysis and HTC chars on the biological nitrogen fixation of a free-living diazotroph, Azotobacter vinelandii". Valeria Svart-Groeger had carried out the research work at the ATB under the supervision of Dr. Jürgen Kern, Dr. Christine Idler, and Dr. Jan Mumme. She had made her degree at the University of Potsdam.
Ms. Svart-Groeger is one of four excellent young scientists who were awarded today. She received the award from Prof. Böttinger, Chairman of the VDI-MEG, at the career building meeting on invitation of the Max Eyth Society for Agricultural Engineering within the VDI and the Max-Eyth Foundation on May 16, 2014 in Alpen.
The award is endowed with € 600.
