Networks

The ZIM network "AgriPhotonics - Knowledge-based, site-adapted and sustainable plant production using optical methods", which was launched in January 2020, combines the expertise of about 30 partners from Germany and Israel. The aim is to offer a technology platform that enables individual applications with smart solutions in a timely and cost-efficient manner through intelligent system integration and sensor fusion. Network management is provided by Optec-Berlin-Brandenburg (OpTecBB) e.V. 

The Bio-PAT network Bio-Process Analytical Technologies combines expertise in the field of bioanalytics and process control for improved bioprocess characterization in the application areas: Industrial biotechnology, pharmaceutical / medical biotechnology, food technology / nutrition, environmental technology and bioenergy. Aims include networking and cooperation between SMEs, research institutions, universities and industry as well as the development of new methods for bioprocess analysis for improved process characterization.

The aim of the "BioPlastics" cooperation network is to develop innovative, biobased and degradable products made of biopolymers. An important principle of the network is the use of residual and waste materials for the production of biopolymers. In the network, partners from academia and industry work jointly on R&D projects under the management of IBB Netzwerk GmbH.

CEE AgEng is a sub-group of the EurAgEng Association and was initiated by ATB in 1999. The thematic focus of the group is on topics of interest for Central and Eastern European institutes in the field of "Agricultural Engineering Research". The CEE AgEng series organises a conference every two years in one of the participating countries.

Based at the Economic Developmant Agency Brandenburg (WFBB) the Cluster Food Industry focuses in particular on networking business and science in the state of Brandenburg and Berlin. With approximately 3,500 companies and some 57,600 employees along the entire value chain - from agriculture, food and beverage industry, logistics and trade - the cluster describes one of the most important economic sectors in the capital region. Companies make use of the scientific potential for cooperation in research and development, which is contrated hre in high density.

ATB is partner in the Cluster Plastics and Chemistry under the roof of the Economic Development Agency of Brandenburg (WFBB). With about 620 companies and 12,900 employees, the Plastics and Chemistry Cluster is a strong pillar of the industrial sector in the State of Brandenburg. The density of scientific institutions in the field of plastics and chemistry in the region, including ATB with its pilot plant for the biotechnological production of biobased chemicals, is a fertile basis for joint research and development - from the basics to application.

CURPAS e.V. is dedicated to the development of unmanned aerial systems in civil use. The association aims to support the networking and cooperation of actors from the region Brandenburg/Berlin, to strengthen enterprises and scientific institutions in identifying suitable development and project partners, to accompany national and international R&D applications and to support a sustainable market development by initiating and promoting marketable and competitive system solutions. CURPAS e.V., founded in 2016 on initiative of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

DAFA congregates the competences of the German, publicly funded agricultural research institutions. Members of DAFA are units at universities, non-university research facilities as well as federal and state research institutes and chambers of agriculture. DAFA povides solutions for complex questions of great societal relevance and seeks to implement them into praxis. The network aims to increase the capacity and the international visibility of German agricultural research. 

ENGAGE (European Network for Advanced Engineering in Agriculture and Environment) is a network of cooperating research institutions in the fields of agricultural, biosystems and environmental technology. It acts as the strategic arm of EurAgEng, the European Association of Agricultural Engineers. The aim of ENGAGE is to intensify European research cooperation. Current chairman of ENGAGE is Prof. Dr. Reiner Brunsch.

EurAgEng promotes agricultural and biosystems technology and also the people who develop, produce, apply and promote it. EurAgEng's activities focus on conferences, working groups, publications and networking. As a strategic arm within the association, ENGAGE further develops the objectives of EurAgEng and translates them into strategies. EurAgEng is the European member of the globally acting International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering CIGR.

Members of the IGE (Innovation Center Technologies for Health and Nutrition) work together on innovative solutions for research questions in the fields of health and nutrition. Interdisciplinary projects are carried out by several departments of the TU Berlin and its cooperation partners. Members contribute their technological competence and develop comprehensive solutions as future-oriented answers to current social challenges.

LAUF e.V. is a non-profit association based in Potsdam. It was founded in 1999 with the aim of promoting research and representing the common interests of non-university institutions in the state of Brandenburg. With its current 31 member institutes, LAUF aims to expand the diverse research landscape of Brandenburg and to illustrate its value for the state and federal government through intensive cooperation with the state's universities and educational institutions, but also through increased promotion among political decision-makers, media and citizens.

The non-profit platform neuwerg aims to exploit the untapped potential of the bioeconomy in Brandenburg. neuwerg brings together creative and active players from business, science, society and politics. The basis is an integrative approach that connects all elements of the value chain. neuwerg aims to promote the material utilisation of bio-based raw materials across all sectors. It will contribute to the development of new products, technologies and business areas - from the idea to growing up to the final product.

Research institutions from the Potsdam area belonging to the Leibniz Association, the Helmholtz Association and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft joined forces in 2009 on the initiative of the University of Potsdam (UP) to form the pearls • Potsdam Research Network. ATB is one of the founding donors of the pearls foundation, which was established in 2011. 

The non-profit association proWissen Potsdam sees its function in the promotion of science and research as well as in the development of a network of universities, scientific institutions, economy, culture, politics, city and citizens in the Potsdam region. Another focus is the communication between science institutions and schools. proWissen Potsdam acts as a hinge in the field of education, advanced training and further education as well as 'lifelong learning'.

The online science platform "querFELDein" bundles facts, news and ideas on the topics of climate, environment, agriculture and nutrition. It brings together perspectives from research, practice and society and invites people to engage in dialogue. Initiated by the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF), the interactive blog format is supported by the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB) and other research institutes and universities.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) aims to enable digital and sustainable innovations and further develop regulation with its real-world laboratories strategy. The establishment of the "Netzwerk Reallabore" is intended to facilitate exchange and networking between stakeholders and disseminate information on legal options, contact persons or practical examples from Germany and abroad. The network can also be used to bring project partners together. The network now has over 950 members, among them the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB).
