April 16-17, 2015: EAGER Meeting at ATB

For the second time, experts of the European Network of European Agricultural Gaseous Emissions Inventory Researchers Network (EAGER) will meet in Potsdam. Representatives from Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the UK and Sweden are expected to participate.

Emissions of harmful gases such as ammonia from agriculture may cause severe environmental problems. Precise and reliable data for national inventories of NH3 emissions are increasingly important.

In the past, different national inventories were not comparable due to different methods used. In order to achieve cross-national comparability e.g. at the European level EAGER was initiated in 2003 with the aim of using the best methods available to develop a "new generation" of emission inventories.

The agenda for the Potsdam meeting includes a.o. product-related NH3 emissions, ammonia emissions from fertilizers and crop production, the update of the UNECE Emission Inventory Guidebook, as well as aspects of nitrogen mineralization and immobilization.
