July 13, 2018: At this year’s international AgEng Conference held in Wageningen, Julia Heinicke received the Young Engineers Best Paper for her contribution on 'Effects of the accumulation of heat load duration on the activity behavior of lactating dairy cows'. Her co-authors were Stephanie Ibscher, Vitaly Belik and Thomas Amon, FU Berlin.
The purpose of the award is to increase motivation and contribution to research and development in agricultural engineering by young engineers. It was handed out by Prof. Dr. Peter Groot Koerkamp, WUR.
Since 2015, Julia Heinicke is working at ATB for her PhD degree on questions of animal behavior in relation to climatic influences.
The AgEng Conference „New engineering concepts for a valued agriculture“ was held 8–12 July 2018 in Wageningen, the Netherlands. It was organized by Dutch Society of Agricultural Engineers (NVTL) and various groups of Wageningen University & Research (WUR).
