11. März 2015: What prevents us from using more efficient technolgy? In their presentation at the international symposium „Efficiency of Mobile Machines and their Applications - A Contribution to the Reduction of Greehouse Gases”, 10-11 March 2015, Braunschweig, Prof. Dr. Reiner Brunsch and Claire Nicolas, ATB, underlined that application and implementation of new technologies in agriculture is very highly – even more than in other branches - depending on social and political framework conditions. These dependencies are related with uncertainty and may largely obstain innovation efforts.
On invitation of the Institute for Mobile Machines and Commercial Vehicles, Technical University Braunschweig, representatives from science, industry and politics came together to discuss demands and approaches for one of the most significant future topics: How to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption?
The focus of the symposium was on the all-sector exchange about efforts and opportunities to increase efficiency of machines and processes in context of the EU climate targets, in particular in the field of agricultural and construction machinery. Intelligent solutions for the technology as well as smart handling of regulatory demands is required for improving the public acceptance of manufacturers and users and not at least for business success.
