June 26, 2018: For his presentation entitled 'Calculating the water deficit of apple orchard by means of spatially resolved approach' Nikolaos Tsoulias received the 'Outstanding Graduate Student Award' from the International Society of Precision Agriculture. The award was presented at the 14th International Conference on Precision Agriculture.
PhD student Nikolaos Tsoulias is currently working on the application of LIDAR technology for measuring tree architecture and predicting yield capacity in orchards. The graduate of the Agricultural University of Athens is member of ATB's precision horticulture team and supervised by Dr. Manuela Zude-Sasse.
The coveted prize for young researchers was awarded at this year's 14th International Conference on Precision Agriculture held June 24-27, 2018 in Montréal, Canada, by Dr. Nicolas Tremblay, Horticultural R&D Center, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
