Nov 13, 2015: With today’s meeting of the planning actors the realization of a construction project at ATB planned since 2014 gets concrete form. The new center for technology and knowledge transfer will house laboratories and offices as well as conference and meeting rooms.
With the construction at the institute’s site in Potsdam’s Max-Eyth-Allee 100 new facilities for research will be provided. The new building will integrate laboratories for chemical-physical, microbiological, and molecular biological analysis and associated offices. Moreover, a communication center for the transfer of knowledge will be established, which will provide appropriate space for meetings and scientific exchange. Construction work is scheduled to be terminated in 2018.
The financing of the new building amounting 13.9 Mio EUR is paid from funds of the Federal Government and the State of Brandenburg through the Ministry of Science, Research and Culture (MWFK) of the State of Brandenburg.
Actors involved in planning and implementation of the new building met today in Potsdam for the kickoff and the signing ceremony. ATB’s director Prof. Dr. Reiner Brunsch and its managing director Dr. Uta Tietz as builders welcomed the representatives of the general and laboratory planners and the project steering group.
Head of project steering group is Peter Hertzberg, Bauplanung Stoessel GmbH, Berlin. Responsible for the general planning is the team led by project manager Thiemo Pesch from agn Niederberghaus & Partner GmbH. agn-group with more than 300 employees nationwide is one of the large general planning agencies in Germany. Planning of laboratories is realized by Planungsgruppe M+M AG, Ing.-Gesellschaft für Gebäudetechnik, Böblingen.
