Dec 13, 2016: An expert meeting was held in São Paulo from 9 to 10 Dec 2016 to discuss ways to successfully implement the bioeconomy for Brazil. ATB scientist Dr. Joachim Venus was invited to present experiences in the development of industrial biotechnology from a German perspective.
The Simpósio Internacional de Bioeconomia “Bioeconomia: visões internacionais no Brasil” aimed at identifying from an international perspective the demands in research and development as well as the political framework conditions to successfully establish the bioecomomy in Brazil. Representatives from research, business and politics were invited to contribute their expertise and perspectives.
As one of the international experts, ATB scientist Dr. Joachim Venus was invited to present experiences in the development of industrial biotechnology from a German perspective.
The conference is the result of a joint initiative of the industrial association FIESP and FAPESP, responsible for research funding, in the state of São Paulo.
Following the Brazilian BioEconomy Summit, Dr. Venus also had the opportunity to present his expertise to students and professional colleagues during a short stay at Universidade Campinas.
