March 11, 2016: In a TV documentary of Bayerischer Rundfunk Prof. Dr. Thomas Amon and his team of scientists report on the current research of barn climate and how to optimize the climate in housing systems.

The research team gave insights into their scientific work - from detection of animal welfare in the research barn Groß Kreutz up to computer simulation of different climate models, created on the data by ATBs wind tunnel.
With their research, the scientists want to adapt the indoor climate of dairy barns to the climate change.
Prof. Dr. Thomas Amon emphasized the complexity of the link between climate and animal data in the research approach: "With our findings, we wish to develop recommendations for the design of animal- and environment-friendly barns. We are working on a "smart barn". Future barns could automatically adapt their own indoor climate, based on current climate data and information, which will be provided by the animals themselves.”
