Feb 3, 2020: Under the motto "Borders are blurring - an industry in flux", research institutes provided information about new trends and options for digitalisation in horticulture as part of the educational show at the International Plant Fair in Essen.
ATB presented current research on precision fruticulture. The focus was on methods and results from the EIP projects PRIMEFRUIT and AQUAC+. In both projects LiDAR sensors are used to collect information on the plant condition. This newly available plant information is used in the two EIP projects in agronomic models, for example for a more precise design of irrigation and thus to optimise processes according to modern standards.
