Oct 12, 2015: Students of the Dutch University of Wageningen visited the institute. ATB scientists presented current research projects and demonstrated the potential of ATB research infrastructure.
Besides ATB's pilot plant for the production of lactic acid and the biogas laboratory the 50 students from the Netherlands also visited the research lab of the Department Engineering for Crop Production. Here, Dr. Robin Gebbers gave an outline of the state of the art of sensor application for assessing small-scale soil and plant data. He presented also ongoing work in the field of development of technologies for precision farming. Particularly impressed were the students by the technical potential of the ATB wind tunnel. Dr. Marcel König informed on the methodological approaches to study flow and dispersion processes in the surrounding and within farm buildings.
