Summary
The project aims to develop the complete value chain from plant residue to final product, from the implementation of the complete bioprocess for lactic acid fermentation on the basis of lignocellulose (application of a new digestion process) to the synthesis of oligolactic acid diol blocks and their reactive extrusion to multiblock PLA variants or development of PLLA / PDLA stereocomplexes with thermo-chemical properties suitable for later applications, further to their application in compounding and processing into moldings for injection molding and films - up to application by the end user. The project leads to improved resource efficiency through the use of lignocellulosic residues (straw), closure of complete cycles and integration into existing infrastructure (agriculture, chemicals / plastics).
