Summary
Being fit and healthy in old age is a high value for many people. A key factor in this is a healthy diet. People who eat well and healthy throughout their lives are less likely to get older when they are older. The project examines questions about the actual nutrition of older people in Germany, the exact definition of a healthy diet and the expected acceptance of new nutritional recommendations. The competence cluster NutriAct - nutritional intervention for healthy aging examines these questions in the Berlin-Potsdam area. The aim is to provide the scientific basis for age-appropriate nutritional interventions and recommendations. In addition, new foods are to be developed that enable a healthy diet. Novel, gentle processing methods for such foods are developed by the ATB.
