Summary
Around 90 % of the NH3 emissions in Germany are caused by agriculture, about 60 % of which are due to the storage and spreading of manure and digestate. The aim of the project is the experimental research and development of a novel process for the gentle, low-emission drying of fermentation residues. Emphasis is on the reduction of ammonia emissions (up to 30 %) and the focus on economic growth. Fermentation residue contains a high proportion of nitrogen (N), phosphorus, potassium, sulfur and trace elements. The project thus contributes to the efficient and environmentally compatible use of relevant resources.
