With the start of the year 2023, the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB) will have a new administrative director in Alice Hohn. On January 1, 2023, she will take over the administrative tasks from Dr. Uta Tietz, who has very successfully managed the Institute's administration since 2007 and is now retiring.

Alice Hohn studied Communication Sciences at the University of Hohenheim. In the following years, she worked at the Social Science Research Center Berlin (WZB), among other things in leading positions in the areas of international affairs, research and career development as well as personnel development and research funding. Most recently, she was head of administration at the Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research (HIRI) in Würzburg, where she has been significantly involved in establishing the institute since its foundation in 2017.

"I am looking forward to my new, various tasks at the ATB," says Alice Hohn. "Keeping many balls in the air at the same time and driving processes forward - that is my passion. In doing so, I value structured digital processes, good communication and a strong can-do spirit, meaning that the focus of all ideas and projects is to make things possible. But of course that only works in teamwork with everyone and, ideally, always with a pinch of humour." Alice Hohn is looking forward to getting to know her colleagues at the ATB from administration, technology and research. "I consider myself lucky to be able to take over an excellently working administration and a very nice team."

Dr Uta Tietz leaves with a good feeling: "Ms Hohn comes with a lot of experience and a strong commitment. I am sure she will beneficially use her ideas and expertise for the ATB". Dr Uta Tietz is leaving the ATB after 15 years to take her well-deserved retirement. Her colleagues appreciate the great teamwork and wish her all the best for the new phase of her life.

"I would like to express my warm thanks to Dr. Tietz for the trusting, productive and always result-oriented collaboration. During her time at the Institute, she played a major role in shaping the future-oriented development of the ATB," says Prof. Barbara Sturm, Scientific Director. "Now I am pleased to welcome Alice Hohn at the institute. We have exciting years ahead of us, in which we want to further advance and expand the ATB and make it internationally more visible."
