The international workshop in Vietnam aims to exchange knowledge about current research and study opportunities on the valorization of biomass with thermal processes in Germany, Vietnam and other countries.

The workshop will follow the 3rd International HTC Symposium to be held in Seoul, South Korea, 18-21 May 2022 (Dates may change due to the Covid-pandemic).

It adresses students, researchers and practitioners.

The main focus is on the valorization of biomass with thermal processes. Existing challenges in Vietnam and their solutions using thermal processes under investigation in ongoing projects will be discussed. Opportunities for further collaboration between Vietnam, Germany and other international partners on research, demonstration projects and full-scale implementation of processes for biomass valorization will be explored.

The Workshop will start May 26, 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City at Van Lang University and will end May 30, 2022 in Hanoi at the Vietnamese-German Center of DAAD
(German Academic Exchange Service).
It will moreover include a field trip on May 27-28, 2022 to Buon Ma Thuot, Dak Lak Province.

The workshop is carried out within the framework of the Project "Valorization of by-products from wet coffee processing: Waste to carbon-rich material using hydrothermal carbonization to improve the sustainability of the coffee value chain in Vietnam (CoffeeChar), funded by BMEL.

It is organized by ATB in cooperation with Van Lang University, Vietnam.

More information on registration and venues will be forthcoming.
