Gas emissions from animal feeding operations (AFOs): measurement techniques and the effects of different manure management practices
Monday, 10:00 a.m., room A101
Speaker: Dr. Kyoung S Ro
U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Florence, SC, USA
Inviting ATB scientist: Dr. Judy Libra
The presentation will briefly introduce some of popular distributed-source gas emission measurement techniques, micrometeorological and flux chamber methods. Accuracy and uncertainty analyses of backward Lagrangian stochastic (bLS) inverse-dispersion and the vertical plume mapping techniques will be discussed. The effects of different livestock manure management practices on ammonia gas emissions from swine and poultry animal feeding operations will be presented.
Dr. Ro and some other international colleagues are visiting the ATB in the context of participating in the HTC2019 conference, held on May 14-16, 2019 in Berlin. The conference is organized by DBFZ and supported by ATB.
