March 9, 2021: Agriculture in (Corona) crisis - How does digitalisation help? Online discussion

The Corona pandemic poses major challenges for agriculture. Restricted trade in agricultural products is affecting sales opportunities and the availability of inputs. Seasonal labour becomes scarce, new consumption patterns and hygiene requirements challenge the industry.

In a public online discussion on 9 March 2021, experts from science and business will address the following questions:

  • How can digitalisation help to cushion the effects of the crisis?
  • Which developments in agricultural robotics are gaining in importance?
  • Which digital portals and innovations are urgently needed?
  • Does the pandemic promote structural change in agriculture?
  • How can politics and science support the digital transformation of agriculture?

On the podium

  • Arno Ruckelshausen - Professor at the Hochschule Osnabrück (Fakultät Ingenieurwissenschaften und Informatik)
  • Anna Henkel -  Chair for Soziologie mit Schwerpunkt Techniksoziologie und nachhaltige Entwicklung, Universität Passau
