Summary
The aim of this research is to quantify and classify cells in the milk with the help of different methods and to analyse the influence of different milking systems on the udder and the composition of milk. From these results tissue-conserving milking parameters will be inferred. The used methods include flow cytometric as well as impedance-based measurement methods. A substantial part of research is to develop suitable analytical methods. The starting points are the basic principles of the measurement methods that will be applied. Based on these methods a protocol should be developed, which is optimally adjusted to the investigated cell types and the medium milk, in which these cell types are present. This method should be the basis for practical milk analyses to describe the correlation between milking technique, udder and the condition of milk. In case differences in milk composition can be detected due to different milking techniques, the parameters which allow a tissue-conserving milking must be inferred.
