FRUTIC Symposium for the first time with FRUIT LOGISTICA

June 30, 2016: For the first time, with FRUTIC Symposium an international scientific meeting will be linked with FRUIT LOGISTICA, the leading fair of the international fresh produce trade. FRUTIC symposium will be held on February 7, 2017 in Berlin. It will help to enrich the fruit and vegetable industry with new technologies and innovations along the value chain.

The 10th International FRUTIC symposium on quality and safety of fresh horticultural products is a platform for intensive professional exchange between agricultural and horticultural scientists, representatives of advisory institutions, logistics and IT engineers, mechanical and plant engineers as well as experts from the fresh produce industry. The day before FRUIT LOGISTICA they will exchange information and experience in Berlin’s CityCube and discuss and develop strategies to achieve their common goal: to provide the best quality of fresh produce products along the value chain. 

For scientists the symposium will offer an opportunity to exchange up-to-the minute information on industrial needs, new technology developments and research opportunities. provide the platform for research network on emerging technologies or current issues in the fresh produce industry. Topics capture technology advancement in production, harvest, postharvest, distribution and quality control of fruit, nut, and vegetables. 

Contributions can be submitted until July 30, 2016.

FRUTIC is jointly organized by Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering Potsdam-Bornim e. V., Germany, and Università degli Studi di Foggia, Italy, in cooperation with FRUIT LOGISTICA Berlin. 

FRUTIC is a series of international scientific meetings which started in 1983 in Israel. Previous events attracted leading academics from all over the world. FRUTIC has become an important source for the development and application of technology in the fruit, nut and vegetable production sectors based on excellent scientific expertise - and in conjunction with FRUIT LOGISTICA is now also addressing leading industrialists.
