June 23, 2014: The climate policy spokeswoman for the parliamentary group BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN today visited the ATB for information on current research questions.
The interest of MP Annalena Baerbock particularly focused on issues of emissions from animal husbandry, the potential of biochar from agricultural residues and the development of alternative protein sources such as edible insects.
In an interview with ATB biogas expert Prof. Bernd Linke, the parliamentarian discussed untapped potentials in the production of bioenergy.
Another stop on the visit was the ATB biochar-laboratory. Here, Dr. Jürgen Kern presented the state of research on the production of optimized biochar from agricultural waste for use as a soil additive.
