Oct 15-16, 2014: BLE Innovation Days in Bonn - ATB presents SmaArt
At the Innovation Days 2014 in Bonn, ATB presents a new project funded by BMEL / BLE: Smaart. The aim of the project is the development of methods and models for control of flower thinning in tree fruit in terms of quality and yield.
The focus of the project's R & D is to develop a real-time, economically optimized demonstrator for adaptive blossom thinning, which is validated in field experiments and certified for practice by user recommendations.
At the Innovation Days in Bonn, current research from innovative projects which are funded in the framework of Innovation Programme by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and supported by the Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food (BLE) will be presented. The projects promoting innovation are significantly characterized by a close cooperation between research, industry and commerce.
Research work in the project Smaart (Running Time: 01/2014 - 10/2016) started in January 2014. In addition to the coordinating Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering (ATB), the project consortium includes:
CiS GmbH, Bentwisch
CLK GmbH, Münster
German Aerospace Center (DLR), Bonn
Fruit - Tec, Deggenhausertal
Foundation Competence Centre for Fruit Production - Lake Constance, Ravensburg-Bavendorf
Contact (coordinator): Prof. Dr. Manuela Zude
The Smaart project is part of ATB's research program: Precision farming and precision livestock production.
