Summary
In the EIP Project Aqua C + effective data for water requirements for the cultivation of fruit crops be made available. Existing models of irrigation control will be tested and validated systematically under practical production conditions of companies in the State of Brandenburg. The effective, varying water demand in the phases of the plant and especially fruit development will be classified in six commercial production orchards and a reference orchard. Here, pome, stone and soft fruit are to be studied as example crops. The assessment of the water balance is supplemented by the plant data. Operating and crop-specific data are merged into an internet-based decision matrix (information and consultation system) to improve water use efficiency and thus the economic efficiency of irrigation. Thus Aqua C + aims to benefit fruit production in Brandenburg and make it more resource-efficient and competitive.
