With the overarching theme “Beyond 2030- Trajectories & priorities for a sutainable future”, the 11th Potsdam Summer School 2025 continues the transdisciplinary and interactive series of events that has been held annually in Potsdam, Germany, since 2014. The event will take place from September 15 to 19, 2025.
The aim of the Potsdam Summer School is to bring together talented young scientists and young professionals from the private sector, government agencies and non-governmental organizations from many different parts of the world to discuss cutting-edge issues related to future sustainable development.

The participants of the Potsdam Summer School will engage in discussions and group work and will be provided with tools to develop effective strategies for solving the challenges they face in their daily work.

The Potsdam Summer School offers all participants a unique opportunity to promote international cooperation and interdisciplinary exchange.
In partnership with the city of Potsdam, the Potsdam Summer School 2025 is jointly organized by the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy, the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI), the Research Institute for Sustainability - Helmholtz Centre Potsdam (RIFS) and the University of Potsdam.
Deadline for submission of applications: Tuesday, April 30, 2025
The organizers intend to design the one-week program so that all participants and speakers are present in Potsdam. The entire program will be conducted in English.
