Summary
A major research focus is the establishment and investigation of large-scale field tests with regard to yield and quality of the urtica plants or the fibers obtained. Besides agronomic issues the development of facilities and technology for the processing of nettle plants to high-quality raw fibers forms the main focus of the project. Research work is based on the innovative processing technology developed by ATB (pilot plant for plant fiber processing). The project offers the opportunity to develop and to demonstrate an integrated deployment concept for high-quality natural fibers.
