Summary
The innovative supply chain of anaerobic storage and subsequent processing of whole hemp plants is the basis of experiments and trials in this sub project. So far, the focus mainly was on the development of technologies and procedures for the manufacturing of plant materials into plane fibre composite (fibre boards). Within the network, this will be extended into the adapted and improved processing of these plant materials to be utilized as reinforcement for composites based on thermoplastics and thermosets processed by injection moulding resp. pressing procedures. Tasks: o Investigations of adapted preservation processes and -additives enabling the supply of specific fibrous raw materials with product and process relevant characteristics (mechanical and geometric properties, e.g. strength, fineness, shape) o Testing of realized technical solutions for machines and installations for the goal oriented disintegration and defibrillation o Adaption of relevant installations in the processing line for mixing with different fibre materials (e.g. wood) for the production of end-product relevant intermediates o Experimental investigations in multiple iteration with different raw materials for an optimised product quality in connection with storage and preservation experiments as well the development and adaption of the installation engineering o Product oriented manufacture of fibre webs and mechanical solidification o Manufacture of bast fibre containing compounds with the possibility of goal- and end product oriented combination with other fibre materials (e.g. wood)
