Summary
Substrate preparation (cultivation, harvest, conservation and storage) for biogas production is influenced by a number of factors that have a high potential for optimization - this includes quality silage preparation. As part of the main focus on silage quality, studies on the aerobic stability of silages and on the effects of weed stocking on the substrate supply for biogas production are being intensified in this project (building on previous EVA projects). Significant new aspect: Development of a "silage management" as a measure for optimal coordination of the individual process steps.
