Summary
The project aims at the development of an innovative information system that displays to consumers on demand relevant information about the origin and the current state of freshness of fruits and vegetables. At the point of sale the terminal provides both information about the current state of the product, but also offers information on the optimum product handling after purchase
The information system is based on an intelligent modular system for quality control in the postharvest chain of fresh horticultural products, that has been developed in a previous research project (BMBF).
