In the new "Leibniz Labs" format, a large number of Leibniz Institutes have been working together on an interdisciplinary basis and with stakeholders from society, politics and business since 2024 in order to develop practical solutions for major social challenges and make them usable for social practice.
The three Leibniz Labs are focussing on the big questions of our time: How can we better prepare for future pandemics? How can we effectively protect biodiversity and the climate while achieving resilient agriculture for food security? And how can historical experiences from fundamental upheavals and crises help to make our societies more resilient?
The ATB is involved in two of three Leibniz Labs:
Leibniz Lab "Systemic Sustainability"
The rapid loss of biodiversity and ongoing climate change are also the result of intensive agriculture. At the same time, they jeopardize agriculture and food security. The Leibniz Lab "Systemic Sustainability" brings together relevant knowledge in science and society on this fundamental challenge in order to promote the development and implementation of systemic solutions.
