ATB Colloquium: Good Scientific Practice
Speaker: Prof. Dr. Klaus Gottschalk, ombudsman at the ATB
The colloquium (in German) gives an introduction to the rules of "good scientific practice". What does "good scientific practice" mean? How can these rules be integrated into the academic life?
Compliance with the rules of "good scientific practice" is mandatory for all scientists. Also, the ATB is committed to the principles of "good scientific practice".
Universities and research institutions should appoint an independent and neutral person / contact person to which its members can turn to in cases of conflict, and in cases of suspected scientific misconduct. In matters of good scientific practice the ombudsperson will act as an advisor. This person also has the task to communicate possible allegations of scientific misconduct confidentially to the responsible authority.
