May 20-21, 2014:
Leibniz in the Bundestag - ATB scientists in dialogue with parliamentarians
More than 60 members of the Bundestag of all political fractions currently get a visit from Leibniz researchers. Members of the German Bundestag take chance of the service offered by the Leibniz Association to "book" a scientist from one of the research institutes to discuss current topics in personal conversation face to face with an expert.
With its subjects the ATB met apparently keen politician interests: nine appointments were made for three ATB scientists:
Dr. Jürgen Kern received four interview invitations on the topics "Phosphorus for agriculture - strategies for a finite resource" and "Biochar: hope for soil and climate".
Prof. Dr. Thomas Amon is discussing with four members of parliament the issue of "Animal husbandry - productive and animal-/ environmentally friendly?".
ATB biogas expert Prof. Dr. Bernd Linke was invited to Berlin on the topic "Biogas in agriculture: Wasted potential".
The format " Leibniz in the Bundestag " has been around for seven years. This year, more than 100 appointments were agreed total .
