Theory and practice often diverge. For this reason, application-oriented research must be evaluated in the most practice-oriented way possible. This is the challenge that the researchers in the recently launched DigiMix-PA project are facing. As part of the International Green Week 2023 in Berlin, Federal Minister Cem Özdemir officially handed over the funding certificate on January 24, 2023.

Researchers from the ATB, the TU Berlin, the University of Potsdam and the Helmholtz GFZ want to work together on the DigiMix-PA project to analyse solutions for precise plant cultivation and test them in entire production lines. Techniques for precise plant cultivation in the area of fertilisation are to be tested in order to record and implement their actual potential for agriculture. The goal: a comparative, economic and ecological evaluation of the precise techniques in practical farming. Using these data, they want to prove the benefits of precision crop farming and optimise procedures.

DigiMix-PA is funded for about 3 years by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food within the funding guideline Future Farms and Future Regions with a total of 2.9 million euros and coordinated by the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy.
