On Thursday, August 17, 2023, we welcomed Prof. Da-Wen Sun as a guest at ATB. It was a great pleasure for us, after many years of cooperation with numerous ATB colleagues, to meet Sun in person for the first time at our institute for a joint dialogue on developments in sustainable and intelligent food processing. It was a fruitful and interesting exchange for both sides.

Da-Wen Sun is Professor of Food and Biosystems Engineering at University College Dublin and an internationally recognised expert in the field of food technology research and teaching. His research interests include cooling, drying and refrigeration processes and systems, food quality and safety, bioprocess simulation and optimisation, as well as computer image processing and Raman imaging technologies.
