Research data - quality-assured and open
Researchers at ATB analyse, model and evaluate bioeconomic production systems from basic research to application. Research data are of fundamental importance and an essential part of the scientific value creation process. A quality-assured and open handling of data is therefore essential to ensure reproducibility, re-use and effectiveness of scientific work. This promotes the transfer of knowledge both to the scientific community and to society.
The ATB acknowledges the importance of research data and is committed to the principles of Good Scientific Practice of the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Leibniz Association, the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities, the Leibniz Association Guidelines for Handling Research Data and the FAIR Data Principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Re-useable).
In order to anchor quality-assured research data management and open access to research data at the institutional level, the ATB “research data management policy" came into force on 18 December 2018. This policy regulates the handling of research data at the ATB and defines responsibilities and duties.
The ATB promotes the implementation of the research data management policy through central measures. Researchers at the ATB are advised and supported on organisational, technical and legal questions concerning the various aspects of research data management. For this purpose, the ATB provides services and internal (IT) infrastructure. The implementation of the policy is further promoted through cooperation with other scientific institutions and ATB contributes to the joint development of standards and structures in the field of research data management.
