A planning meeting followed by a construction coordination meeting took place on 12 February 2024 as part of the ZifoG construction project "Leibniz Innovation Farm for Sustainable Bioeconomy" (InnoHof) at the ATB. The meeting brought together a large number of stakeholders, including funding bodies, general and specialist planners, project managers, cooperation partners and authorities, to report on the current project status at the end of the preliminary design planning and to discuss the next steps.
The general planner haascookzemmrich STUDIO2050 first presented the preliminary design plans. The InnoHof site is being built in the direct neighbourhood of the cooperation partner LVAT (Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt für Tierzucht und Tierhaltung e.V.) in Groß Kreutz. The guiding principles of the planning include the construction of identity-creating, sustainable buildings with a minimal CO2 footprint using renewable and reused raw materials as well as low follow-up costs with optimised land use. The plans include a complex with offices and knowledge transfer rooms, a research hall with laboratories, a fibre technology centre, a machine hall and an area for a research biogas plant.
In addition to discussing the ambitious framework schedule for the planned completion of construction in 2026 and the resulting inspection and approval deadlines, possibilities for the use of high-quality recycled materials in the sense of a 3R concept were explored and experiences in the field of sustainable construction were exchanged.
The meeting was closed with an informative tour of existing research infrastructures at the ATB site in Potsdam-Bornim. The group visited machine and research halls, laboratories and workshops, so that the planners were able to return home with a deeper understanding of the planned research topics.
We would like to thank all participants for the constructive discussion and helpful feedback and are looking forward to the results of the subsequent design planning. With our joint commitment, we are confident that the project will be realised within the specified time frame.
